Woodchips aren’t the only wealth that Albany sends to Japan. Great Southern Grammar regularly offers students of Japanese two different educational visits to include in their curriculum.
Teacher of Japanese language, Atsuko Kagi, has found that a 'familiarisation' tour to Japan motivates her Year 9 and 10 students to continue their langugae studies. In the two week tour, students visit Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima and spend a week in school and home stay in Albany's sister-city of Nichinan.
For Year 11 and 12 students Kagi sensai arranges a five week in-country experience to hone students' skills in listening and speaking.
Watch the video and Atsuko will tell you herself.
