Principal - Casa Mia Montessori Community School

Description

Casa Mia Montessori Community School is looking for a new Principal due to the upcoming retirement of our current principal in December 2021. Our foundations in the Montessori philosophy of education are very important to everything we do at the school, so our new principal will, through their teaching experience, share our passion for the Montessori method. Experience and an aptitude for leading and maintaining a strong administrative framework will also be key for success in the role. As Principal of our small community focused school, you will benefit from a solid foundation of a growing student body and disciplined management of the school’s finances, and you will have the opportunity to work with the school’s governing body to develop and deliver plans to grow the school. We encourage interested leaders in teaching to email your resume/CV with a short cover letter (maximum 3 pages) summarising how your key experiences and attributes reflect those described in the Casa Mia School Principal Position Description, to principal@casamiamontessori.wa.edu.au Applications for this position are due no later than Sunday 18 July 2021 at 6.00PM WST. For more information about the role and Casa Mia Montessori Community School contact Janet Laing (08) 9279 2209 or principal@casamiamontessori.wa.edu.au About Casa Mia Montessori Community SchoolAt Casa Mia, we recognise that the children are influenced by things around them and interact with everything socially, emotionally, with language, creatively, physically and mentally. For ease of communication, we name this process educating the whole child. Educating the whole child is necessary to give them the opportunity to reach their full potential. At Casa Mia we know that children learn despite us; we know the quality of the learning is dependent on the quality and intensity of our children’s relationships with their environments; we know the children need to be active, need numerous experiences of the same things; need consistent modelling from others around them and repeated opportunities to apply and practice. We know when real learning takes place, the children will want to be independent; will be truthful; be fair and just; strive to be open and accountable; be consistent and reliable; will want to keep learning and always pursue their personal best whilst being cooperative; will be accepting of everyone’s talents and differences and care for the environment in which they live.
