Maintenance/ Facilities Officer

Description

Santa Maria College is a leading Catholic girls' school, founded by the Sisters of Mercy with 1,280 students in Years 5 - 12 including 150 boarders.

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance/ Facilities Officer.

 

The key duty of the Facilities Officer is to assist with the day-to-day maintenance of the College complex, in ensuring a pleasant and safe working environment for students and staff. The role is required to deal with a diverse range of operational and maintenance matters, particularly in providing timely support for College activities and events.

 

This role is a full-time ongoing position, commencing in August 2024.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills:

 

  • Model and maintain the Catholic and Mercy ethos and traditions of the College
  • Fit and able to carry out manual tasks in all conditions
  • Wide range of practical skills & a demonstrated ability to carry out grounds & maintenance tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment and apply safe working practices
  • Ability to work under direction with limited supervision & in a small multi-skilled work environment
  • Experience in the safe use and application of pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, cleaning products and fuels
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • “C” Class driver’s licence

Desirable but not essential:-

 

  • “MR” Class driver’s license
  • Trade Qualification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • A current and validated National Criminal History Record Check (as issued by the Western Australian Department of Education)
  • Working With Children Check
  • Completion of Child Protection Training on appointment
