As part of this recruitment drive, we are seeking expressions of interest for the following Full-time position commencing in January 2025:

Inclusive Education Support Teacher (1.0 FTE)

We are looking for a dynamic, Inclusive Education Support Teacher to help maximise the effectiveness of student support in the Secondary School. You will work with a great team of Teachers and EAs to work with students with special needs or who require additional educational support. 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Academic and pastoral oversight of students with special needs or identified to be at educational risk.
  • Administrative duties include but are not limited to: 
    • NCCD Funding applications.
    • Development of IEPS, CAPS and other educational plans in consultation with teachers.
  • Attending and contributing to the Secondary School Pastoral Care meetings.
  • Attending Staff and Team Planning meetings.
  • Where required, attend Parent-Teacher meetings.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

You will have:

  • an active Christian faith and you are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos and Core Values of the College
  • a deeply relational, friendly and open personality
  • a passion for children with education support needs and effective intervention education
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, which can be used effectively with staff, students and parents
  • the ability to organise and plan effectively and manage your time well
  • a thorough understanding of the WA Curriculum and achievement standards
  • the willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that your students are always well provided for
  • the ability to work within a Google Chrome environment
  • the ability to offer authentic learning experiences that will empower your students to learn
  • excellent behaviour management skills

 

Qualifications:

 

You will have: 

 

  • a relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required in the position
  • a current Western Australia Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration TRBWA)
  • a current Working With Children Card
  • a current Police Clearance
  • a current First Aid Certificate

 

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principals Child Safe Modules if not already completed.
  • The successful applicant will be required to complete the Discovery Educational Therapy Training Course.
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
