Education Assistant (Short-term Contract)

Providence Christian College is a Co-educational, non-denominational K-12 College with around 1050 students in Southern River, WA.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following positions:

Education Assistant: Short-term Contract (Term 3, 2024)

Tuesday 16 July - 20 September, 2024: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm (0.93 FTE)

We are looking for an outstanding and passionate Education Assistant to work in a Year 1 classroom for three days per week and as part of our Inclusive Education Team for two days per week:

The successful applicant will:

  • Competently and capably assist young students within the classroom and outdoor Early Learning environment to meet their learning goals
  • Collaborate with teachers and other education assistants to provide an excellent education for all students  
  • Work with students in small groups to enhance their learning and understanding of the curriculum
  • Demonstrate high levels of competency, creativity and initiative in lesson task preparation, tidying up and packing away and record-keeping where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and a commitment to Protective Behaviours/Child Protection education and care practices that ensure a child-safe learning environment. 
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral English communication skills 
  • Demonstrate proactivity, adaptability, punctuality  and reliability 
  • Can establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents and other staff
     

The successful applicant must have:

  • An active Christian faith
  • Cert 4 Education Support or equivalent
  • A passion for supporting young students in an engaging and relevant way
  • The capacity to work harmoniously in a team

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principals Child Safe Modules if not already completed.
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
  • You hold a current Working with Children Card.
