About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitability qualified Early Childhood Education Assistant to support the staff and students in the Early Years at our Halls Head Campus. This is a fixed term, part-time (0.5FTE) position, for the 2025 school year.
Education Assistants carry out duties as directed by the Head of Primary and work under the guidance of the Teacher-in-Charge as designated by the Head of Primary.
Education Assistants are required to, under the guidance of the classroom teacher:
- Supervise small groups and individual activities under the direction of the Teacher-in-Charge.
- Assist the Teacher-in-Charge during educational excursions and outings.
- Take a supervisory role over outdoor activities as directed by teaching staff.
- Assist with movement of students within the school grounds e.g. to and from buses, Library etc.
- Set up work areas with relevant resources, as directed by the Teacher-in-Charge.
- Make teaching aides e.g. charts, templates, etc. as requested by teaching staff.
- Assist children in developing independent skills in self organisation e.g. dressing, toileting, eating, preparing for class and daily routines.

The successful candidate will:
- Hold a current Working with Children Check
- Hold a current Police Clearance
- ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Completed an approved Education Assistants course at a recognised training institution or equivalent.
- Computer knowledge is desirable
- Ability to work in a co-operative team environment
