Kerry Street Community School (KSCS) is seeking a passionate, community-minded, and committed educator to join our leadership team as Deputy Principal (0.6 FTE). This role may also include up to 0.2 FTE teaching, depending on the candidate’s interests and experience.

About the Role
This is a key leadership role focused on enhancing student wellbeing and learning outcomes across the school.
You will support and guide staff in planning, pedagogy, and assessment practices, helping to shape a consistent and inclusive whole-school approach. Working closely with the Principal, you’ll also contribute to school operations, staff development, and strategic planning.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated Educational Leadership
Proven ability to lead with clarity and purpose, promoting a shared vision and values-based culture within a school community. - Excellence in Teaching and Learning
Strong understanding of effective pedagogy including Inquiry and Play-Based, curriculum design, and the ability to lead staff in planning, differentiation, and inclusive practice to improve student outcomes. - Data-Informed Practice
Experience in designing, implementing, and analysing school-wide assessment processes to inform teaching, identify student needs, and drive improvement. - Inclusive Education and Student Support
Expertise in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including the development and oversight of Individual Education Plans, and a sound knowledge of inclusive education funding processes. - Operational and Strategic Management
Capacity to support school operations, policy implementation, coordination of events, and contribute to grant and funding applications with a high level of organisation and initiative. - Collaborative and Reflective Leadership
Commitment to building staff capacity through mentoring, professional dialogue, and fostering a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
Additional Requirements:
- Hold current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia and current Working with Children Check
- Appropriate academic qualifications
