We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following position: 

Full-time  (1.0 FTE)  Deputy Head of Primary School (Teaching and Learning) 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

The Deputy Head of Primary (Teaching and Learning) is responsible to the Head of Primary for:  

 

Leading Staff Development:

  • Lead and support teacher development, including pre-service, graduate, early career, new to the College staff, and aspiring leaders, to ensure consistent and excellent delivery of the curriculum.

 

Primary Relief Coordination:

  • Ensure continuity of curriculum delivery by organising and coordinating relief staff on a day-to-day basis in the Primary School.

 

Leading Curriculum Delivery and Pedagogical Practice:

  • Lead staff in employing evidence-based pedagogical practices, in line with curriculum requirements and a Christian worldview, with fidelity.
  • Lead the teaching and learning cycle, including data collection and analysis, programming, documentation, and assessment and reporting processes. 
  • Lead the purchasing and management of resources to support learning programmes.
  • Work as part of the Primary School Leadership Team in the daily running of the school and associated events and activities.

 

Collaborating in Strategic Planning:

  • In collaboration with the Head of Primary, annually review and update relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work as part of the Primary School  Leadership Team in the strategic planning and implementation of Primary School priorities. 

 

Developing a strong College community:

  • Lead and participate in College tours and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to the College newsletter and other publications as required.
  • Lead and participate in Primary School Assemblies and College events as required.

 

The role may require a 0.2FTE classroom teaching.

 

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

 

You will have:

  • Exemplary planning, organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that can be used effectively with staff, students and parents.
  • A commitment to go the extra mile to ensure that the Primary School Staff, students and community are supported.
  • Experience in the Google Environment.

 

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

 

You will have:

  • Some experience in using the TASS school management system.
  • Experience in the Google Environment.

 

Personal Qualities:

  • You display an active Christian Faith.
  • You are passionate about living out your Christian faith, and you are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos of the College and its Core Values.
  • You are deeply relational, friendly and open.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position.
  • Current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA).
  • Current Working With Children Card.
  • Current Police Clearance.

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principals Child Safe Modules if not already completed.
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
