Description

Building on the success of the Creative Schools program, AISWA is once again partnering with FORM, to deliver a pilot professional learning program with WA’s independent schools. Modelled on Creative School’s globally recognised, evidence-based framework for transforming student learning, engagement and wellbeing, the Teaching for Creativity program offers the scope and scale for teachers to take creative leadership of a project in their school. In 2025, Teaching for Creativity program, will be funded by AISWA*, and open to two teachers from up to ten schools. The program is suitable for primary and secondary teachers at every career stage and across all learning areas.

Over Terms 2 and 3 teachers will participate in a series of workshops and applied in-situ learning as they plan, deliver and evaluate a four-week project that fosters the Five Habits of Learning, develops an engagement with the General Capabilities and engages students in deep learning of curriculum content. Teachers from each school will collaborate to develop their respective projects, encouraging a collective responsibility for project outcomes. This will offer enriching opportunities to tailor units of work which are influenced by school context, student needs and even the curricula of multiple learning areas. Specialist practitioners from FORM’s Creative Schools program will coach teachers as they deliver their projects in the classroom, providing professional expertise, personalised support and feedback.

At the end of the program, participants from all schools will gather to reflect on their learning, share insights and explore ways for continuing to apply, develop and extend their creative knowledge and skills. The overall goal of the program is the enhancement of teachers’ and students’ performance and capabilities, leading to school improvement.

The cost for this program is $1000 per school. There is no cost to register for this event through the website. An invoice will be issued separately.
