Description

This series of after school sessions will give you a taste of elements that may be incorporated into STEM education & projects or a Design Technologies Maker Space. Participants will get to explore and play with a range of materials, resources and tools.

Our third session in this series will focus on the digital landscape, exploring ways to incorporate elements such as photography, video, animation, light and sound. Come and explore and range of materials and resources that will support you to incorporate the digital landscape into your school and classroom.

Outcomes

  • Opportunities for participants to engage with a range of resources to support STEM planning, delivery and assessment.
  • Up skill participants to use current and comprehensive STEM content and pedagogy.
  • Provide insight into utilising content and materials to support delivery of STEM programs.
  • Model use and application of STEM resources to improve teaching practice and make content relevant and meaningful.

Rachel Riggs

Rachel Riggs

Rachel is an internationally experienced visual theatre artist/producer who designs & directs work for all ages using traditional and contemporary puppetry techniques. She devises and creates theatre projects collaborating to visually tell stories. She initiates exciting and innovative creative arts programs, drawing on site and history, working with community and creative learning. Rachel Riggs originally trained in puppetry and theatre arts at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, London, and worked in British theatre and television. Following her Masters in Fine Art in Site & Archive and Early Years Professional status award, she moved to Australia for professional development, and continues her artistic directorship for over 25 years with DNA puppetry & visual theatre.

AISWA is easily accessible, with plenty of parking options nearby. While there is no onsite parking available, street parking is available along Walters Drive and surrounding streets, with a maximum fee of $5.50 per day.
