Description

Network days provide opportunities for teachers to meet and engage in Professional Learning throughout the academic year. The Network Days are designed to meet the specific needs of teachers engaged in the various English courses. A range of presenters and activities are sourced for these events to address the demands of each of the courses.

The focus is broad and includes the 7-10 syllabus, as well as all the Senior Secondary courses.  

This PL is run in conjunction with CEWA.

Publisher Georgia Richter (Fremantle Press) will present all the latest offerings from Fremantle Press 

with information on their applicability to the English syllabuses. 

 

10.30am  Morning Tea 

 

11.00am Handwriting, Computers and Typing in the Secondary Space Dr Anabela Malpique (ECU) will cover the challenges facing teachers with respect to student writing in today’s Secondary classrooms, with discussion and question time to explore your school’s particular challenges in this area. 

 

12.30pm  Lunch 

 

1.15pm  Progress report – how are you going  implementing the newly revised syllabus (English 7-10)?

1.55pm  Embedding the General Capabilities and Cross Curriculum Priorities

Outcomes

John has worked in education for 34 years, and is currently Secondary English and Performing Arts Consultant with Catholic Education Western Australia Ltd.  He has taught in remote and urban schools. Before becoming a teacher, he worked as a musician, and in theatre.

Parking is at Hale Hockey Car Park which is located past the Newman Siena Centre by the round about. Please do not park in the bay marked “Reserved” located at the entrance to this car park at all times. There are also 2 carbays for Disabled parking located at the front of Newman Siena Centre. ACROD permits need to be displayed clearly at all times when utilising these bays. Newman Siena Centre Rear Car Park - The rear car park is for NEWMAN SIENA CENTRE STAFF/TENANTS ONLY, and not accessible for seminar parking AT ALL TIMES.
