Description
Primary Connections, the primary science program developed by our Australian Academy of Science has Scientific Literacy as its key goal for Australian students. This means equipping our young people with the knowledge and skills to question and evaluate social issues. Today this as important as ever as we all grapple with Covid-19 and the many opinions and theories out in the community.
The holiday workshop will take participants into some of the Primary Connections resources and explore the teaching and learning principles that underpin Primary Connections. This includes the 5Es which are the key sections or chapters of the Primary Connections books, in addition to the themes of Science and Literacy, Classroom Investigations, Cooperative Learning and Formative Assessment.
Participants will come away from the day with a clear understanding of how to make best use of the Primary Connections booklets and feel confident in how to teach Science using these resources.
Please note: schools are encouraged and invited to contact AISWA to have this workshop take place in their school.
