Description
There is a lot of misinformation and moralising about the impact of pornography on psycho-sexual development. As such, many educators feel under-equipped to have this conversation with young people, particularly teenage boys. AISWA invites you to attend this professional learning webinar intended to equip educators with the information, understanding, and strategies to incorporate discussions about pornography and healthy masculinity into Respectful Relationships Education in schools.
Outcomes
This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the research regarding the impact of pornography on psycho-sexual development as well what's the best practice guidelines are for educating young people about this topic. Attendees will be provided with several guiding principles as well as a series of strategies for delivering porn literacy education. Additionally, Cameron will discuss considerations for working with teenage boys, including the ‘Act Like a Man’ Box, positive role models, and the spectrum of allies.

Cameron Fraser
Cameron Fraser, GradDipSxlgy, is a senior sexuality educator at inyourskin_®. He was Deputy Chair of the Society of Australian Sexologists (2022-2024) and holds a Graduate Diploma in Sexology from Curtin University. Cameron specializes in positive masculinity and healthy male sexuality. In 2010, Lifeline WA awarded him for his mental health leadership. He has spoken at events like TEDxPerth on sexting (2019) and Australasian Society for HIV on pleasure-positivity (2023).
