Description
This workshop provides the opportunity to develop your skills and confidence in using the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 as a tool in teaching and learning. In addition, this workshop will incorporate some challenges from Robocup and it would be beneficial if you are interested in participating in that competition. Relevant curricular links will be drawn and several integration opportunities will be discussed.
The LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is a powerful educational tool with many opportunities for cross-curricular integration. The focus of this workshop is to develop educators' confidence and understanding in using the EV3 in the classroom. Furthermore, this workshop will use the Robocup challenge to demonstrate the capabilities of the resource itself and develop an understanding of how to use it as an educational tool.
The workshop will be mainly hands-on and you will have the chance to discuss project ideas, implementation strategies and anything else with participants from other schools.
To attend this workshop, it is recommended that you bring your own LEGO EV3 Mindstorm Kit and device with the LEGO Mindstorms Education EV3 software installed. It can be downloaded here: https://education.lego.com/en-au/downloads/mindstorms-ev3/software . If you cannot provide your own LEGO Mindstorms EV3 please get in touch prior to the event.
