Description
Are you interested in using animals for scientific purposes?
Do you have animals at school?
Do you have questions about the approval process for keeping animals?
Do you find the paperwork complicated and time-consuming?
This afternoon session will share information and clarify some of the questions and issues that arise from the approval process involved in order to comply with the Animal Welfare Act WA (2002) along with the Code for animal use for scientific purposes. The information will be of interest to principals, risk and compliance officers, science teachers, lab technicians and teachers who love chicken hatching projects.
Participants will come away from the day knowing their responsibilities and legislative obligations. They will gain a clear understanding of the requirements, how to successfully meet those requirements to enable effective decision making and a time effective application process. To assist this, some useful resources will be provided.
A light lunch will be provided on arrival.
