Description

The AISWA Early Career Teacher Network is designed to support and develop educators who are in the early stages of their teaching careers. Guided by extensive feedback from previous participants in the Early Career Teachers (ECTs) program, this series of masterclasses provides a range of targeted focus topics for ECTs of all levels of experience to assist them in being effective and successful practitioners in the classroom, as well as active, informed contributors to their school community.

In practice, teaching draws on aspects of all three AITSL domains of teaching; Professional Knowledge, Professional Practice and Professional Engagement.

Two 60-minute masterclasses per term will be offered on topics such as:

  • Inclusive Education – neurodiversity guidelines, cognitive load theory, behaviour management
  • Curriculum mapping
  • Early Childhood
  • Content/Subject specific
  • Personal growth - wellbeing, selfcare, boundaries and routines
  • Professional growth - PL planning and time management
  • Cultural competencies – AITSL Cultural Responsiveness Tool
  • Engaging with Parents
  • Portfolio planning – AITSL Self-Assessment Tool
