Description

The course provides an in-depth analysis of the chair’s accountabilities and relationships with other board members and the principal.

You will explore the chair’s role both inside and outside the boardroom and take part in a forum for participants to discreetly discuss leadership, relationship management and governance issues - including board selection, board processes, and principal succession planning.

The course will also provide a rare opportunity to discuss common school governance issues – such as board selection, board processes, communication, principal succession planning, and other unique challenges facing not-for-profit boards – with fellow chairs.

You will explore the chair’s vital role in making the board effective and how to become better leaders and managers of their board and its affairs.

The AICD has one of the largest director memberships in the world, comprised of leaders from not-for-profit, private, and public sectors in Australia and across the globe. Participants will be eligible for AICD  membership for an additional fee. AICD membership provides exclusive benefits and an opportunity for participants to take their career further with: dedicated learning pathways; networking services; and the ability to stay current on the duties and responsibilities of a director.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Board Chairs of AISWA schools to enhance their skills and knowledge. Don't miss out on this chance to learn from the best in the industry and take your governance skills to the next level.

*This course is heavily subsidised for AISWA full member schools. Places are strictly limited to 25.
