Music Coordinator

SJGS is looking for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic full time Music Coordinator to commence in Term 1, 2018.The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Class music for years K - yr 10
• The coordination of the music program within the school (K-Yr 12) using extra peripatetic staff.  The school currently offers students:

• Voice/Vocals
• Guitar/Bass Guitar
• Drums
• Piano
• Violin/Viola/cello
• Trumpet/trombone/tuba

• Facilitate the Percussion, Guitar, Vocal, Strings Ensembles, Choir and music theory extension classes.
• Coordinate the music component for School events

Candidates should be able to demonstrate their competency against the following domains (that govern the  Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

• Professional knowledge;
• Professional practice; and
• Professional engagement.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with other staff, students and parents.
• Work co-operatively in a team environment, and
• Support the Christian ethos of the School

Highly desirableKnowledge of the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) and Contemporary Popular Music (CPM) syllabi would be desirable.SJGS prioritises the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people, and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
