Principal

Description

Established in 1921, St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School is a leading Kindergarten to Year 12 independent day and boarding school located in Karrinyup, a metropolitan suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The School has a strong academic tradition, with a large, diverse and successful extracurricular programme and a wonderful sense of community. St Mary’s girls are encouraged to serve the common good and to see themselves as future leaders within the spheres of career and community.  The current Principal, Mrs Lynne Thomson, has announced to the Community her intention to retire mid-2018, after more than 20 years of exemplary educational leadership and service. Mrs Thomson has fostered and encouraged the tradition of educating girls to develop a lifelong love of learning. The Board and the whole school community are grateful and thankful for her leadership and service.  The Board of Governors of St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School is therefore seeking to appoint the tenth Principal of the School, who will continue to focus on the School’s tradition of providing an outstanding educational experience for its girls. The Board’s criteria include seeking a first class educator and leader who will live the Anglican values and vision of the School, bringing warmth, joy, energy and passion to the community, and who will have a genuine, long-term commitment to St Mary’s.  This is an outstanding career opportunity to join a school and school community whose educational environment, enrolments, finances, capital development and governance are in excellent order. The successful applicant will lead the School into its Centenary year and beyond. There could be no more exciting time to be Principal at St Mary’s.  For further information, please contact Sally Langer on 08 9282 5250 or Sarah Beresford on 02 9223 1855.
