Australian Children's Laureate
The Australian Children’s Laureate is an initiative developed by the Australian Children’s Literature Alliance (ACLA), a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2008. The Laureate's role is to promote the importance of reading, creativity and story in the lives of young Australians.The 2018-19 Children's Laureate will be announced on Monday February 12, 2018.

Professional Learning for Mathematics Teachers
The School of Education will be running a professional learning module for mathematics teachers who are not currently teaching Year 11 Mathematics Methods but who would like to do so in the future. At the same time, this module is also available for current Mathematics Methods teachers who may be teaching the Year 11 course for the first time or who want to gain more knowledge of the course.

School and Learning Through The Eyes of Students | Monday,12th February 2018 | 4.30 - 5.30pm
Please join the Murdoch School of Education for a seminar presented by the WA Commissioner for Children and Young People, Colin Pettit. In this seminar, Colin will provide a detailed overview of findings from a consultation with more than 1,800 Year 3 to Year 12 students in Western Australia. The insights and responses from the consultation are both compelling and thought provoking and will challenge teachers’ and educators’ perceptions of school and learning.

Many Languages - One Methodology 2018
A 7-day professional learning course for teachers wishing to develop knowledge and skills in the Languages curriculum. The course structure provides a collaborative and supportive environment through which teachers can engage with contemporary approaches, and future challenges associated with the implementation of the new Australian and Western Australian Curriculum for Languages.

Primary Science Leaders Meetings
Primary Science leaders and teachers are invited to attend this meeting to discuss the space and equipment used to deliver an engaging, appropriate science program to students in a primary setting. Safety and storage/management of equipment are important for teachers to feel confident and be effective in using the time and space available for science at each school. - conducted in conjunction with CEWA; DoE teachers also welcome to attend.
