SCEA Institute - Better Education Conference - James Nottingham from Challenging Learning (UK) Live in WA

Great schools ensure that all students are optimally challenged to acheive their personal best. This involves shifting the focus from successfor a few to success for all; from measuring arrainment to measuring progress; from a culture of testing to a culture of learning.

James is the keynote speaker at this year’s Better Education Conference on 2-3 June. Hosting the ‘Challenging Learning’ stream, James’ keynotes and workshops will cover challenging and motivating students to learn, avoiding the learning pit, focussing on progress (not grades), strategies for teaching students how to think critically and more.

The conference also features streams with Greg Whitby (Catholic Education Diocese Parramatta), Kylie Bice (Growing up Greatness), Wendy Gorman (AISWA) and Michael Raiter (Centre for Biblical Preaching). Find out more at www.better.edu.au

This is to be held June 2 & 3. Please see Flyer to book your place.

Financial Questionnaire Workshop - Friday May 13th – 2.30 at Hale School

ASBA has negotiated with John Koulouris, Director of the Financial Assurance Team Schooling Group from the Australian Government Department of Education and Training, to present to business managers a Financial Questionnaire Workshop / Tips and Hints on Friday 13th May at 2:30pm at Hale School. John will talk about the FQ in detail, the 2015 FQ review, what’s new for 2016 and financial accountability. He will then do a Q&A session to finally lay to rest some of those niggling queries that you may have had about your FQ return. Towards that, please email your queries to Baiju Patel (baijup@hale.wa.ed.au) beforehand so they can be collated and passed on to John. The workshop will go on for about 2.5 hours and will be held in the lecture theatre. There is no cost to attend the workshop. A map has been attached and there will be signage on the day. Parking is next to the chapel (P18 on the Map).

Please RSVP directly to Baiju at Hale: baijup@hale.wa.ed.au
